That's a ridiculous question. Of course I still have one. I check on my f'list and stuff, I just . . . haven't posted. Because I got sick of myself only posting to complain. And I only feel like posting when I feel like complaining, so . . . yeah.

Anyway, I'm alive and doing NaNo. I'm the ML (municipal liaison) for my area this year, which just means I'm the coordinator of events and so on. That's fun, and different.

One little compliment can make you feel great. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty. Put this in your journal. Once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and this will remind you how great you are.

I feel awful about how long I've been away from Livejournal . . . posting and commenting, anyway. I've pretty much been reading everything. It's just that there's something I was supposed to do . . . well, I'm here to do it now.

Julz sent me a CD a long time ago and I was supposed to say what I thought about the songs on it. This wasn't an easy project as I have an attention span of about two minutes when it comes to music. I like it playing almost constantly when I'm doing stuff, but I don't really pay attention. So . . . I tried?

Most of these are based on my first reaction.

1 "Ok" - Holly Conlan - This song had some nice parts to it. It went on a little long, but that's just me.
2 "Lost!" - Coldplay - I didn't like the beginning of this one. It gets better in the middle
3 "Dark Blue" - Jacks Mannequin - I kept zoning out on this one. (ETA: Listening to it now, and liking it.)
4 "Hard Sun" - Eddie Vedder - I like the chorus. This one was pretty good.
5 "Guess Who Batman" - This one was funny, and had an upbeat sound to it.
6 "All I Can See" - Brendan James -This wasn't really my favorite.
7 "Hot 'N Cold" - Katy Perry - This one is great! I got addicted to this one and listened to it several times before moving on in the CD.
8 "Beautiful" - Me'Shell Ndegeocello - I just didn't care for this one.
9 "Mercy" - Duffy - My first reaction to this was 'huh.' It's got a nice, old . . . okay, at one point I knew the musical genre I wanted.

There were actually eighteen songs on the CD. I'll try to get the rest of it posted later today.

Every Day

Everything else aside, I am so very pleased with myself this month. Aside from today, I have written every day. I'm not even bothering to care that there have been days when the most I could manage was in the twenty to thirty word range. I wrote on the night of the 4th, late at night. I wrote with a fever.
And because I had not missed a day, the longer I went without missing a day, the worse I would feel about missing a . . . well, you get the point. Some of it was crap, but that's okay. Some of it was much less craptacular. And I drew a bit, too.

When I woke up this morning, my husband presented me with a list of all the movies he felt I'd want to see this year, and the dates they come out.

Here is the list.

Iron Man (May 2)
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (May 16)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull (May 23)
Hulk (June 23)
Batman: The Dark Knight (July 18)
X-Files 2 (July 25)

I kind of boggled at it. I knew about all these movies, but somehow I hadn't thought about it. Usually there's about two or three movies I want to see in a year. Last year it was Harry Potter and the OotP, Pirates 3, and Spider-Man 3. And I don't even know . . . is Harry Potter and the HBP this year, too?

Can I just hibernate until May 2?

Grrrr. I wish I didn't have to work today.

Thanks to everyone for the e-hugs last night. Sometimes I can't even figure out what got me started feeling bad in the first place. I think I did. It's kind of work related. There might be more on it later, there might not. For now, I just really appreciate your thoughts.

I tried to do a meme but somehow in the copy/paste everything got bolded and I couldn't unbold, and bolding (and italicizing and underlining) was kind of important to the meme . . . so I'll try again later. Anyway, I must be off to work!

Waves + Drabble

Hello! Anyone miss me? Hello? Anyway, I don't have too much to say. Things seem to be gradually normalizing. Last . . . no, the week before last, everything was kind of difficult. I don't have a better way to say that, now. I'm trying to be fairly quick as I need to be getting to work in . . . about three minutes.
Anyway, I promised some drabbles to cuteej4and spidergirl30and I told Julz I would have them finished sometime last week. Hah! I lied. I couldn't manage to do very much last week. Anyway, I have one finished. I don't promise, but I will try very hard to have the rest of them ready and posted by this weekend.

There would be time, later, for everything. Time to grieve, time to celebrate the victory. Now, though, nothing had sunk in. Nothing was real. Nothing except the hand he held in his.
"So . . ." he said, then stopped. He wasn't sure what to say. He was still amazed that he and Hermione had managed to be alone, at least briefly.
"We did it," Hermione said, squeezing Ron's hand. "He's . . . Voldemort is gone."
Ron almost corrected her, then remembered there was no need not to say the name. No need, ever again.

"Yes, he is," Ron said. "Um . . . Hermione?"

"Yes?"

"Where do we . . . er . . . what happens now?"

For a moment, she was silent, and Ron worried that somehow, he'd said something wrong. "I mean, about-"

"I know what you mean," she said. "I'm just not sure now is the best time to discuss this."
"Yeah, I reckon you're right," Ron said. That was another thing there would be time for. He leaned over, and kissed her, just because he could. Her smile was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, at that moment.

I imagine the formatting is going to be wonky. It's time for me to head on out. It's not perfect (well, duh) and I'm not fond of the ending. I'll fix the formatting later.

Oy, Coffee

I don't know why I drink the coffee, I know I shouldn't, especially since I'm going to work later. I guess just because it's there and I have nothing else to do. I always drink it at the car dealership. I think they overcharged me for services that may or may not have been done already, anyway. Oh well.

I have a serious subject to talk about, but . . . er, not right now. I'm in a really good mood at the moment, and don't want to ruin it for me or anyone else. So . . . this is just a warning that I HAVE A SERIOUS POST COMING UP THAT NO ONE IS OBLIGATED TO READ, BUT IT WOULD MEAN AN AWFUL LOT IF YOU DID.

So, instead of that . . . what else can I talk about? My cat. My cat has been injured (probably more on that coming up in another post) but is getting better. Actually, I have three cats! (Hooray! I have all my kitties again. *loves kitties.*)

My cats are:

Felix Consuela Khan - Yes, he is a boy but he is so beautiful (I'm sure you've all seen him, he's my cat icon I use all the time.)

Oscar Mayer Weiner - I'm not sure how that's spelled. He is a sweet dumb rascal. He's Felix's brother . . . as you may notice, they are named after the Odd Couple, which would not have been my husband and my choice but we got them after they already knew what their names were, and then we added on some bits.

Koala Bear - Who is mostly called Bear.

Okay, I am running out of juice. Oh no!

Oh, and if anyone remembers I e-mailed a query to an agent . . . they responded back with "I am not the right agent, sorry." But it actually was a pretty good rejection. I'm okay with it. Right then was not the greatest time for me to get a rejection but anyway . . .

Well, I must be getting to work. I hope everyone is having a good day. I am having a good day so far! Which is wonderful, it's been awhile.

So, how is everyone? I've been around. I've been lurking. I've been reading journal entries . . . I just haven't been commenting. Or around for chatting. I haven't felt like it, I haven't known what to say. I don't like where I live, and I don't have a job here, but at this point it looks like I may not have to get a job here, as I may be going back to where I was before.
I miss chatting. I don't miss commenting because I was never great at commenting, and while I feel like I should be, sometimes, I still didn't know what to say.

So I'll just say this. *Hugs* F'list and even more *hugs* for those who feel they really could use them.

Oh, is this post supposed to be about NaNoWriMo? I guess so. I decided to write about "Superheroes" this year. Which is fine, I did a lot of "research" reading comic books . . . uh, which is circular logic because if I hadn't been reading comics in the first place, I wouldn't have decided to write about superheroes . . . the problem is, I should have had some characters from the start.
And I got a good distance into the novel, and realized that I didn't like any of my characters, and I had started in the wrong place, and I couldn't write any more of that novel because it was boring. Awful is fine. Boring is not.
So I started over again today, and caught myself up, and even though my characters have some superficial resemblance to the characters I started out with yesterday, they're much better.

So that's about all I have for now.

Remember the Good Old Days

When all this journal was about was me ~~whining~~ writing about making submissions to agents who didn't want what I was submitting? Pepperidge Farm remembers . . . I mean, yeah. Well, I imagine this journal is going to be about more, but . . . I made a submission to an agent today. Yep.
This particular agent takes several months to respond, potentially, so I get to wait a long time. Anyway, I'm going to wait until next week to start counting that. So . . .

Yeah, just thought I'd let people know. *crosses fingers*
